Key Info
EOIs Due: 14th April
Incubator dates: Fridays and/or Sundays 25th April – 4th July
Cabaret dates: 6th & 13th July
Create and present a new performance piece with directorial and technical support from Vulcana. This is a free program that encourages emerging and established artists from all genres to experiment, play and devise a new short performance work over a period of 2.5 months. Receive artistic advice and feedback from the Vulcana directorial team and your peers, access Vulcana’s technical resources to allow you to experiment with costuming, lighting and new apparatuses.
The Incubator runs weekly at the Vulcana Arts Hub from the week beginning the 21st of April on Friday evenings and/or Sunday afternoons until the 4th July. Participants should be able to attend the incubator at least one day a week for a majority of the incubator.
The short works created during the incubator will be presented at 2 cabarets on the 6th and 13th of July.
Performer numbers are capped and spots are awarded on a first come first served basis. The incubator is open to women, trans and non-binary artists.
Duos, trios or groups are welcome to apply and you only need to submit one application – please talk about your group numbers in the ideas section.
Agitate Incubator participants are strongly encouraged to also attend the Agitate Creative Masterclass. The Create masterclass does have an attendance fee and if that is a barrier to you please email circus@vulcana.org.au and we can offer a reduced or non-fee ticket for you.
