    Agitate Arts Incubator

    April- July 2024

    Intensive 17th – 21st April
    Agitate 2024 was kicked of with a week long creative intensive with circus performer and director Malia Walsh.

    Malia Walsh is a multi award winning Victorian Producer with over 12 years experience touring Physical theatre, Circus and Children’s entertainment regionally, nationally and internationally.

    This intensive allowed participants to learn about Malia’s creative process and to take time to reflect on initial inspiration for their own creative work.

    Incubator May – June
    In the incubator period artists met weekly at Vulcana to explore and refine their work with the guidance of Meanjin Artist Sammy Williams and Vulcana artistic director Celia White. The incubator staged also allowed for peer-to-peer feedback and cross pollination of ideas. As well as directorial support Vulcana supported artists to bring about technical, production and costuming ideas.

    Cabarets 29th June & 6th July
    The Agitate Cabarets, held at the Vulcana Arts Hub, allowed artists to present their pieces to a supportive audience and gain valuable insight into how their ideas were interpreted and absorbed by viewers.

    The cabarets also provided participants with an opportunity to receive video and photographic collateral which is vital part in the future life of these new artistic works. .
